Why Every Tradie Should Spend 20 Minutes Walking The Streets

Being Outside Can Be Great For Your Business!

It’s true! Walking the streets may be one of the easiest and best things you do to generate new leads and customers for your tradie business.

Not only that..it could be a lot cheaper than advertising.

So let’s look at how you can gain the most from spending 20 minutes walking the streets while you are at your next job!

Getting the most of the next 20 minutes on the streets

  1. Come geared with magnets or flyers

In 20 minutes you can easily drop at least 50 magnets or flyers in the letter boxes of residents in a street you are servicing.

That’s 50 extra people that will know about your business in 20 minutes.

Do that once a day, five days a week, that’s 1000 extra people a month!

  1. Stand out with some signage

Whether you are on a job for a few hours or a few months, you can use every minute to build your local brand with a huge sign at the front of the house.

Imagine all the neighbours and cars driving by, seeing your signage and list of services?

If it’s a major job or renovation, why not have a “20 minute open invite’ session whereby neighbours can get a personal tour to see your work in progress.

We know a Sydney bathroom renovator that used this strategy. He invited neighbours in an apartment block to see his project and in a three week period, he successfully managed to secure three new bathroom renovation jobs in the same building.

  1. Meet the neighbours!

All your customers have neighbours who are also home owners and may at some point need services like yours. Your target audience is around you every single day.

Spending the time walking the streets and building rapport with your client’s neighbours puts you top of mind.

Always take the time to introduce yourself and your services.
